Eternal Regret: Answers That Fall Short of His Grace
“I’m good.”
I didn’t see the need for change. Life seemed fine as it was.
“I’m just not good enough.”
I felt unworthy — You couldn’t possibly want someone like me.
“It just wasn’t the right time.”
There’s always something else going on. I said I would think about it later.
“I’m just not ready yet.”
I was hesitating, maybe I was afraid of what surrender really meant.
“I just don’t know where to begin.”
I feel overwhelmed — unsure how to take the first step toward You.
“People are holding me back.”
I’m worried about what family, friends, or others would say or think.
“It’s just too difficult.”
Following You sounds hard — I don’t know if I can do it.
“I’ve tried, and it just can’t be done.”
I’ve failed before and doubted that real change was even possible.
“I’m afraid of what others might think.”
Fear of rejection or judgment kept me from taking the next step.
“I fear failure would crush me.”
What if I tried and fell short? The weight of responsibility felt too heavy.
Biblical Truth For Hearts That Hesitate
Even when our hearts are unsure, God speaks with clarity and compassion.
His truth meets us where we are — not to shame us, but to lead us home.
“I’m good.”
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”

What seems good now can’t compare with the joy of knowing Him.

A Personal Prayer of Repentance
“If this reflects your heart, you can pray these words to God."
Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner
and have done many things that don’t please You.
I have lived my life for myself.
I am sorry, and I repent.
I ask You to forgive me.
I believe that You died on the cross for me --
to save me.
You did what I could not do for myself.
I come to You now
and ask You to take control of my life;
I give it to You.
From this day forward,
help me to live every day for You
and in a way that pleases You.
I love You, Lord,
and I want to spend eternity with You.
Amen.
Saying these words is not enough. Jesus said,
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23).
A repentant heart bears fruit through ongoing trust and obedience.
Let your life show that you belong to Him.
